FACING SUGE KNIGHT

SUGE KNIGHT
Born on April 19, 1966, Marion Hugh “Suge” Knight Jr. rose from Compton, California to become the co-founder of one of the biggest rap record labels in history, Death Row Records. Death Row released such seminal rap albums as Dr. Dre’s The Chronic, Snoop Doggy Dog’s Doggystyle and 2Pac’s All Eyez on Me. Suge Knight is notorious for using intimidating and violent tactics to achieve his goals. He was a participant in the East/West coast rap rivalry, and was shot in a drive-by shooting, which killed rap star Tupac Shakur. Death Row Records crumbled after Suge Knight was incarcerated for five years for violating probation. In February 2015, he was charged with murder and attempted murder in a fatal hit-and-run accident and is currently awaiting trial.
